Reports have confirmed that Arsenal has compiled a shortlist of four potential strikers for the upcoming summer transfer window, but Brentford's Ivan Toney isn't among them.

During a tough winter period where they struggled to find the back of the net, Arsenal fans were clamoring for a new striker. Despite this, the club, facing potential Financial Fair Play sanctions after significant spending in the previous summer transfer window, didn't make any immediate moves.

Sticking with their existing options, however, has paid off. Since returning from a mid-season training camp in Dubai, Arsenal has been on a roll, winning all six of their Premier League games in 2024 and scoring an impressive 25 goals in the process.

Despite this recent success, the need for a quality striker remains evident, especially after a 1-0 loss to Porto in the Champions League. With Gabriel Jesus struggling with injuries and Eddie Nketiah playing a supporting role, Arsenal is expected to prioritize signing a new striker in the summer.

Reportedly, four names are being considered. Napoli's Victor Osimhen, who will be leaving the club, is one option, although Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested. Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres, who has been in excellent form in Portugal, is another candidate. Joao Pedro from Brighton & Hove Albion and Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen are also being scouted.

However, despite previous speculation, it appears that Arsenal has cooled their interest in Ivan Toney. They seem to be seeking a different type of striker and are focusing on younger players than the 27-year-old Brentford forward.
