Reportedly, Chelsea have set their sights on acquiring Bayer Leverkusen's striker, Victor Boniface, in the upcoming summer transfer window. The 23-year-old Nigerian has garnered attention since his move from Belgian Pro League side Union SG to Germany's Bayer Leverkusen in July 2023.

Boniface's impressive performance includes 10 goals and 7 assists in 16 Bundesliga matches, with a total of 16 goals in 23 appearances across various competitions. He plays a pivotal role in Leverkusen's unbeaten run in the Bundesliga, where they currently sit atop the table with an eight-point lead over Bayern Munich.

As per reports from Fichajes, Chelsea is eager to add Boniface to their roster for the 2024-25 season, aiming to bolster their attacking options for European competitions. This move aligns with Mauricio Pochettino's strategy to reinforce the central striking position during the summer transfer period.

Despite securing Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku ahead of the ongoing campaign to address attacking issues, Chelsea's frontline hasn't been as prolific as desired. Nkunku, formerly of RB Leipzig, has been limited to seven Premier League appearances due to injury, while Jackson has managed seven goals in 22 top-flight matches.

Bayer Leverkusen values Boniface at €40m (£34.2m), recognizing his potential amidst interest from several clubs. With Boniface's contract running until 2028, Leverkusen isn't in a hurry to part ways with their star striker.

During the January transfer window, Chelsea emerged as competitors alongside Premier League rivals Arsenal and West Ham United in pursuit of Boniface, as clubs seek reinforcements in their attacking departments. Arsenal, led by Mikel Arteta, particularly aim to support Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah in their offensive setup.
