Arsenal is reportedly intensifying their interest in Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface. After spending just one season with Belgian side Union SG, Boniface made a €20 million switch to Leverkusen last summer and has quickly established himself in Germany.

The 22-year-old has been in impressive form, notching up 16 goals and providing eight assists in 23 appearances across all competitions this season. His contribution includes 10 goals in 16 Bundesliga outings, playing a key role in Xabi Alonso's side, who currently lead the Bundesliga table with a seven-point margin and remain unbeaten in all 27 competitive matches this campaign.

Despite Boniface's current absence due to a groin injury, leading him to miss the Africa Cup of Nations, speculation has surrounded the possibility of a significant transfer in recent weeks.

Real Madrid has reportedly identified him as a potential target, and both Chelsea and West Ham United have expressed interest. However, there are now reports suggesting that Arsenal has also entered the race and made an unexpected inquiry for the Leverkusen star.

While West Ham may have an advantage in the pursuit, given sporting director Tim Steidten's connections with his former club Leverkusen, the report indicates that Boniface, who is known to be an Arsenal supporter, may prefer a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is said to be prioritizing the addition of a new center-forward this year, with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah currently the primary options. However, Arteta recently hinted that the Gunners may not make any signings during the latter stages of the January transfer window.

Boniface joins a list of strikers linked with a move to North London, including Brentford's Ivan Toney, Napoli's Victor Osimhen, and Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee.
