Manchester City has reportedly finalized an agreement to acquire Girona winger Savio from their affiliated club, Troyes. Savio, who initially joined Girona on loan from Troyes last summer, has made a significant impact in the Spanish top flight.

Despite having a contract with Troyes until June 2027, Savio's standout performances with Girona have attracted considerable interest. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City has successfully negotiated a deal with the French club to secure Savio on a permanent basis this summer.

This move showcases the collaborative relationship between Manchester City, Troyes, and Girona, all of which fall under the City Football Group umbrella.

Although other clubs in Germany and England were reportedly vying for Savio's services, Manchester City seems to have emerged as the successful suitor. While the exact transfer fee remains undisclosed, a prior report suggested that the European champions could potentially sign the 19-year-old for as little as £10 million.

The formalities of the transfer are expected to be completed in the coming days, solidifying the move for the summer transfer window. Savio, who initially developed in the youth setup of Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro, joined Troyes in the summer of 2022.

However, he was promptly loaned to Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven, where he faced challenges, failing to secure a single start in eight competitive matches.

In contrast, Savio has flourished during his loan spell with Girona, making a significant impact by featuring in 22 out of 23 league games, scoring five goals, and providing seven assists. With this impending transfer to Manchester City, Savio is set to part ways with Troyes without having made a single appearance for the Ligue 2 club.
