According to reports, Saudi Pro League club, Al-Hilal has expressed interest in acquiring the services of Liverpool forward, Luis Diaz. The Saudi Arabian club is among several others that have been significantly investing in the transfer market during the summer, with a total expenditure exceeding £100m for three new signings.

Among their recent acquisitions are Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio. Backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Al-Hilal is eager to bolster their squad further.

Al-Hilal has already made two unsuccessful offers for Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic and had an £18m bid for Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez turned down. However, their attention has now turned to Diaz, and they are expected to approach Liverpool in pursuit of the Colombian forward.

Despite Al-Hilal's interest, Liverpool is reportedly not looking to sell Diaz, as he still has four years remaining on his current contract. Diaz joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 and has since contributed 11 goals and 8 assists in 47 appearances.

However, Diaz's journey at Liverpool faced a setback during the 2022-23 season, where he spent six months on the sidelines due to a severe knee injury. Despite his injury, he remains a key player for Liverpool and has earned 39 caps for the Colombian national team.

Interestingly, Al-Hilal's pursuit of Diaz is not the only connection between Liverpool and the Saudi Pro League, as midfielders Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have also attracted interest from the same league.
