Paris Saint-Germain secured their 12th Trophee des Champions title with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Toulouse at the Parc des Princes, extending their record. Playing on their home ground, the Ligue 1 champions faced little resistance from the Coupe de France holders, ultimately sealing the win with first-half goals from Lee Kang-in and Kylian Mbappe.

After finishing 2023 with a Ligue 1 win against Metz, PSG displayed no signs of rustiness on their familiar turf. The Parisians took only three minutes to convert their dominance into the opening goal.

Ousmane Dembele, left unchecked, received a diagonal pass on the right side of the box and volleyed the ball into the mixer. Lee capitalized on the opportunity, directing a smart side-footed finish into the net.

Lee's goal, timed at two minutes and 34 seconds, marked the first within the opening three minutes of a Trophee des Champions clash since 2005. PSG continued their pressure, and Toulouse had a scare in the 37th minute when Gianluigi Donnarumma and the woodwork denied Thijs Dallinga.

Surviving that moment, PSG quickly scored their second as Mbappe, the star marksman, received the ball from Bradley Barcola, maneuvered through several defenders, and fired a crisp strike into the side of the net.

Mbappe's solo finish became his 111th goal at the Parc des Princes, a record in the club's history. Despite Toulouse's efforts for a comeback, the second half saw them struggling to break through PSG's defense. Achraf Hakimi came close to sealing the game with a free-kick that hit the post in the 56th minute.

As the second half slowed, PSG's coach Luis Enrique introduced the newly-signed Lucas Beraldo for his debut in the backline. Although Toulouse attempted to make things interesting in added time, PSG maintained their clean sheet and secured their victory.

Both teams now turn their attention to Coupe de France duties this weekend, with PSG traveling to Revel on Sunday evening and Toulouse facing Chambery in four days.
