Despite recent rumors from Spain, Tottenham Hotspur have not submitted a formal offer for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, according to journalist Ben Jacobs. The 24-year-old Brazilian’s future at the Bernabéu remains uncertain this summer.

While Real Madrid are reportedly open to selling him for the right price, there’s no clear indication yet that Rodrygo wants to leave or that any club is close to meeting Madrid’s valuation.

Arsenal were previously linked with the attacker but are said to have cooled their interest, leaving Spurs as the latest club rumored to be in the running. However, Jacobs reports that talk of an official bid from Tottenham is “wide of the mark,” stating that no clubs including Spurs have made an offer so far.

"Real are still prepared to sell if Rodrygo informs them he wishes to leave,” Jacobs posted on X. “The player has now met with Xabi Alonso but has not handed in a transfer request. It’s an open situation, with Rodrygo being offered to several clubs in case he decides to move on."

Rodrygo joined Real Madrid from Santos back in 2019 and has since made 270 appearances, scoring 68 goals and assisting 51. While those numbers are impressive, his impact has declined recently he managed just six goals and six assists in La Liga last season and played a smaller role under new head coach Xabi Alonso during the 2025 Club World Cup.

Even so, Real Madrid are unlikely to part ways with Rodrygo for anything less than £70 million, given his age, experience, and proven record on the biggest stages.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are said to be stepping up their search for attacking reinforcements, especially with James Maddison facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a serious injury against Newcastle United last weekend.

"Rodrygo’s situation feels like classic transfer window smoke—lots of noise, no real fire yet. Unless he pushes for a move, £70M seems steep for Spurs, especially with Maddison out. Let’s see who blinks first."
