Rodri and Jack Grealish from Manchester City won't be playing in the upcoming Premier League match against Aston Villa on Wednesday due to suspension. In the exciting 3-3 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, both players received their fifth yellow cards of the season.

Rodri got his caution just after the half-hour mark for a foul on Pedro Porro to stop a Spurs counter-attack. Grealish, who came in as a substitute in the 52nd minute, received a yellow card nine minutes later for kicking the ball away after a free kick was given to Tottenham for a handball.

Since both players accumulated five yellow cards before City's 19th Premier League game, they will have to serve a one-match suspension, affecting their presence in the match at Villa Park. This absence is a significant setback for the reigning champions as they face an in-form Villa team that has won their last 13 Premier League home games.

Rodri had previously served a three-match ban earlier in the season due to a straight red card, and City felt the impact as they lost all three games without him. He has been crucial to Pep Guardiola's team, contributing with four goals and six assists in 18 appearances this season.

Grealish, on the other hand, will miss the chance to play at his former home ground, Villa Park, where he spent nine years as an Aston Villa player before moving to Man City for £100 million.

Despite scoring his first Premier League goal of the season in the thrilling match against Spurs, his efforts couldn't secure a victory as the visitors equalized with a 90th-minute header from Dejan Kulusevski.
