Sir Jim Ratcliffe is on the brink of taking over sporting control of United through a £1.25bn deal for a 25% stake, pending formal ratification. The Independent reports that Erik ten Hag, eager to make a statement, is contemplating offers for high-profile players such as Casemiro, Sancho, and Varane.
This development follows recent reports suggesting that Ten Hag may have lost support from certain players in the dressing room. Casemiro, signed by United for around £60m from Real Madrid in August 2022, was offered a four-year contract with a weekly wage of £300,000.
Sancho has been sidelined from the first team due to a falling out with the manager, while Varane has seen a decline in his position in the starting 11, with Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and the recently recovered Luke Shaw being preferred in central defense in recent weeks.
Although United is expected to be active in the upcoming transfer window, it's understood that any new player acquisitions are contingent on the sale of existing players.
