Liverpool are ramping up their efforts to acquire Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister. The Merseyside club is in the market for multiple players in that area of the pitch this summer to refresh their squad after players such as Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain come off the wage bill, and James Milner may depart as a free agent.

While Jurgen Klopp would like to retain Milner's services, Liverpool will still seek to add at least two new faces to their engine room. With Liverpool out of the running for Jude Bellingham, they are increasing their efforts to make an early statement in the transfer market.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Liverpool has presented a proposal to the representatives of Mac Allister, with talks with Brighton and Mac Allister's camp possibly progressing soon. It's "a 100% feeling" that Mac Allister will leave Brighton after the end of the season, and the 24-year-old has been impressive, accumulating eight goals and one assist in the Premier League this campaign.

While his father has said that his son is likely to attract widespread offers rather than extend his contract beyond 2025, the transfer fee for Mac Allister is rumored to be around £60m.
