Reports suggest that Liverpool is intensifying their interest in midfielders Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone. With the departures of James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita on free transfers, Liverpool's manager Jurgen Klopp is actively seeking new midfield options for the upcoming season.

Liverpool recently completed the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion. However, their search for another midfielder, preferably a younger player, continues as some of their current options are over 30 years old.

Among the various targets linked with Liverpool, Thuram and Kone have consistently been associated with a potential move to Anfield. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Liverpool is preparing to make a stronger effort to sign at least one of them in the coming weeks. Discussions with the representatives of both players have been scheduled to explore the possibility of reaching a positive agreement.

Although no official bids have been made to their respective clubs yet, it is expected that Liverpool will make offers if there is a chance of striking a deal.

Thuram has attracted interest from other clubs as well, including Manchester City and Manchester United. The one-cap France international has two years left on his contract with Nice, and with the club failing to qualify for Europe, a transfer seems likely as Thuram seeks a new challenge at a bigger club. Kone finds himself in a similar situation, except Borussia Monchengladbach holds the option to extend his contract until the end of the 2025-26 season.

Recent reports suggest that a fee in the range of €35m (£30.03m) to €40m (£34.32m) might be sufficient to convince Borussia Monchengladbach to sell their prized asset as they undergo a summer rebuild.

Previously, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund had shown interest in the France Under-21 international, as had Paris Saint-Germain, although PSG has since focused on signing Manuel Ugarte from Sporting Lisbon.
