Liverpool's Andy Robertson is making progress in his recovery from a shoulder dislocation suffered while playing for Scotland in October. The left-back has been absent from action, missing several important games, including the Merseyside derby and Scotland's November internationals.

However, reports suggest that Robertson is back in training and is expected to return to first-team action early in the New Year.Although he is still a few weeks away from a full return, Robertson is on track according to the Daily Mail.

While he has not yet resumed contact training to protect his shoulder, he has started building fitness after an extended period on the sidelines. Additionally, Robertson is undergoing strength training to ensure his shoulder is in optimal condition before progressing to full training and eventually rejoining the first team.

The absence of the undisputed first-choice left-back has been felt, especially in crucial fixtures against teams like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle United, as well as in the EFL Cup quarter-final against West Ham United. Despite Robertson's setback, Liverpool has coped with the situation using Kostas Tsimikas and occasionally Joe Gomez on the left-hand side of defense.

Robertson, who joined Liverpool from Hull City in 2017, has been a key player, contributing significantly to the team's success under Jurgen Klopp. He has been part of Liverpool's achievements, winning major honors and providing numerous assists.

Since his injury, Kostas Tsimikas has been the primary replacement, and with Liverpool already securing their spot as group winners in the Europa League, the rotation is expected to continue for the next six matches after their upcoming game against Union SG.
