Lautaro Martinez's agent has disclosed that initial talks have commenced regarding a potential contract extension with Inter Milan. The 26-year-old striker has delivered an impressive performance for the Italian club in the 2023-24 season, notching up 14 goals and providing two assists in 16 appearances across all competitions.

Since joining San Siro from Racing Club in July 2018, the World Cup winner has been a pivotal player, accumulating 116 goals and 38 assists in 254 appearances for the Italian giants. While Martinez still has three years remaining on his current deal with Inter, recent speculations have arisen about a possible contract extension.

Regarded by some of the top clubs worldwide, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal, as they plan to sign a new striker next year, Martinez is a sought-after talent.

Barcelona is also in the hunt for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, and Real Madrid, considering Martinez as a potential target, might turn to him if they are unable to secure Erling Haaland from Manchester City.

Despite the growing interest from several clubs, Martinez's agent emphasizes that his client's focus is solely on remaining at Inter.
"We are in talks to receive an offer that can satisfy Lautaro," Alejandro Camano told Tuttosport. "It's not easy because it's not going to happen from one day to another.

"But we are working toward a positive agreement. I don't think there will be problems. We are on good terms with Inter and preliminary talks have already begun."
During the summer, there were rumors connecting Martinez to a lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia. However, his agent has verified that a proposal from the Saudi Pro League was rejected.

"Absolutely and it's not strange for somebody who has a clear life project with a strong sense of belonging," Camano added.

"Lautaro feels well and he feels appreciated by the club. Don't forget all his successes with the Nerazzurri. We are talking about the Champions League runners-up.

"It is an honour to represent him, he deserves a 10 rating for the person he is and the family he has. We are talking about one of the top three strikers worldwide."
