According to reports, Fiorentina has informed Morroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat that he must make a decision regarding his future with the club by the end of this week. This ultimatum comes amidst notable interest from prominent clubs such as Manchester United and Liverpool. The 27-year-old's prospects of departing from Serie A's Fiorentina escalated after he captained Morocco during the 2022 World Cup, contributing significantly to their journey to the semi-finals.

Having joined the club in 2020, Amrabat has participated in 107 matches across various competitions for Fiorentina. Last season, he featured in 49 games, during which La Viola reached the finals but were runners-up in both the Coppa Italia and Europa Conference League. However, the midfielder now stands in the final year of his contract with the Italian team, and speculations have arisen about a potential move to a major European club while he is in the prime of his career.

Daniele Prade, the director of Fiorentina, disclosed recently that they have not yet received any offers for Amrabat. Nevertheless, he acknowledged that the midfielder has a desire to join a "top club" this summer. While Fiorentina understands Amrabat's aspiration to explore new horizons, Corriere dello Sport, as reported by the Manchester Evening News, states that the club has given Amrabat until Friday to determine whether he will remain with the team or pursue an exit this summer.

The report further indicates that Fiorentina's patience with Amrabat is diminishing, and they are eager to avoid a scenario where they lose the midfielder close to the transfer window's conclusion, making it challenging to secure a replacement.

In Fiorentina's opening Serie A match of the current season against Genoa, Amrabat was absent as he continues to contemplate his options.

Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool have both aimed to strengthen their midfield options throughout this summer. They are particularly interested in recruiting a defensive-minded midfielder before the transfer window closes on September 1.

With Manchester United parting ways with Fred and the potential departure of Donny van de Beek to Real Sociedad, the club could intensify their pursuit of Amrabat. The Red Devils have already secured signings like Mason Mount, who is currently recovering from injury, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund this summer. Manager Erik ten Hag mentioned last week that if the right opportunity arises, Manchester United is prepared to make a significant move in the transfer market.

On the other hand, Liverpool's manager Jurgen Klopp oversaw a substantial overhaul of the midfield this summer. As many as seven midfielders left, and the team welcomed three new additions: Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, and Wataru Endo.

While Liverpool has engaged in discussions with Fiorentina's representatives regarding a potential summer transfer for Amrabat, they are well aware of the competition from English rivals Manchester United.

Additionally, Atletico Madrid and Juventus have also demonstrated interest in Amrabat. Fiorentina reportedly values him around £30 million.
