Real Madrid is apparently concerned about Vinicius Junior's fitness ahead of their La Liga match against Girona on Saturday. The Brazilian player was initially included in the starting lineup for the Madrid derby against Atletico Madrid last weekend.

However, just before the match began, it was revealed that he had been removed from the starting eleven.

Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of Los Blancos, confirmed after the 1-1 draw that Vinicius was dealing with a neck issue, which led to his late withdrawal from the starting lineup. Despite this setback, he was still able to make it onto the bench for the game.

"He has tried, but he had a contracture in his cervicals. He wasn't comfortable in the warm-up," Ancelotti told reporters when asked about the nature of the 23-year-old's problem.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Vinicius couldn't participate in training with his Real Madrid teammates on Wednesday. He left the training complex earlier than the other first-team players. The report suggests there are doubts about his availability for the Girona game. Additionally, Antonio Rudiger was also missing from the main training session.
