Pep Guardiola recently shared that Erling Haaland won't be able to play in Manchester City's last match of 2023 against Sheffield United. The talented Norwegian striker has been out of action since the unfortunate 1-0 loss to Aston Villa earlier this month, where he played the entire 90 minutes.

Haaland is currently dealing with a foot injury, which has kept him on the sidelines for the past six games, including two matches in the Club World Cup. Despite accompanying the team to the tournament, he had to undergo individual training sessions in Saudi Arabia.

During Haaland's absence, Manchester City secured victories against Urawa Red Diamonds and Fluminense, ultimately clinching the Club World Cup trophy for the first time.

Additionally, he was unavailable for the recent 3-1 Premier League win over Everton at Goodison Park, where City came from behind to secure the three points with goals from Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez, and Bernardo Silva.

Guardiola, speaking after the away triumph, gave an update on Haaland's recovery timeline, but the exact return date remains uncertain.
"Still he's not with the team," the Man City boss told Amazon Prime. "He feels better with his bone but he hasn't made one training session with us. "Unfortunately December is so congested with so many teams. January is so congested. Hopefully, in January he can come back with us."
