Dwyane Wade, the beloved Miami Heat legend, announced on Friday that he is joining the ownership group of the Chicago Sky, his hometown team. Wade, a three-time NBA champion and 13-time All-Star, is set to be inducted into the Hall of Fame next month.

Expressing his excitement on Twitter, Wade shared, "It's an incredible feeling to be part of this historic moment. Witnessing the growth on the business side of something I've been passionate about my whole life is truly amazing. It's official! This one is for the home team, literally."

The exact percentage of Wade's ownership stake has not been disclosed yet, and his investment is pending approval from the WNBA's board of governors.

Since retiring from the NBA in 2019, the 41-year-old Wade has also joined ownership groups for the NBA's Utah Jazz and the MLS club Real Salt Lake.

Wade joins a list of prominent investors in the women's basketball league, including Tom Brady (Las Vegas Aces), Alex Rodriguez (Minnesota Lynx), and Magic Johnson (Los Angeles Sparks).
