Paris Saint-Germain defender, Sergio Ramos, has announced that he will be leaving the club when his contract expires at the end of the season. After a remarkable 16-year career at Real Madrid, Ramos joined PSG on a free transfer in 2021 and has spent the past two seasons at the Parc des Princes.

During his first season with PSG, Ramos faced several injury setbacks, but still managed to secure a Ligue 1 title under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino. Having overcome his fitness issues, the 37-year-old former Spain international has become a crucial member of Christophe Galtier's defensive line this season, contributing three goals and one assist in 44 appearances.

Ramos started in 30 Ligue 1 matches, playing a key role in PSG's 11th league title win, and also featured in every minute of their journey to the Champions League last 16. However, throughout the season, there has been uncertainty surrounding the future of the center-back, as his contract with the French champions only runs until the end of June.

Initially, it was believed that PSG was open to offering Ramos a one-year contract extension. However, the club has now confirmed that the Spanish defender will bid farewell after his two-year stint at the club comes to an end. Ramos will now embark on a new chapter in his illustrious career, leaving PSG with a lasting legacy and memories of his contributions to the team.

"Wearing the Red and Blue shirt for the last two years has been a wonderful experience. I've had an unforgettable adventure in Paris and I'd like to thank you all for your support and love. Allez Paris!" Ramos told the official PSG website.

President Nasser Al-Khelaifi also paid tribute to the veteran defender, adding:
"We would like to express our immense gratitude to Sergio Ramos for the two years he has spent with us.

"Sergio's leadership, team spirit and professionalism, combined with his experience at the highest level, make him a true football legend, and it was an honour to have him in Paris. Everyone at the club wishes him all the best."
