Reports suggest that Manchester United are considering a potential move for Matheus Nunes, the Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder who was signed from Sporting Lisbon for a club-record fee of £38m last August. It was suggested at the time of Nunes's signing that he would be allowed to move to a bigger club in the future, with Liverpool among the teams rumoured to be interested in him.

However, Football Insider now claims that United are also looking at the 24-year-old as they seek to revamp their midfield for the 2023-24 season. With Scott McTominay likely to be sold, Nunes could fit the bill for United, especially given his recent good form for Wolves. While Nunes has had a mixed season so far, his recent performances have been encouraging, including a goal against Chelsea and a key role in the win over Brentford.

Wolves have removed a release clause from Nunes's contract, but may be tempted to sell him for the right price, especially if Ruben Neves leaves the club in the summer.
