Reports indicate that Eduardo Camavinga has reached an agreement with Real Madrid regarding a new contract. The 20-year-old midfielder joined Los Blancos from Rennes in August 2021 and has since made 99 appearances for the club, scoring two goals and providing four assists across various competitions.

Camavinga played a crucial role for Real Madrid throughout the 2022-23 season, featuring in 59 matches in total, with 37 appearances in La Liga. Recent speculation surrounding his future has linked several Premier League clubs with the talented Frenchman, who has already secured six major trophies during his time at the Bernabeu.

In the previous season, Camavinga lifted the Copa del Rey, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup. In the 2021-22 campaign, he played a key part in Real Madrid winning La Liga, the Champions League, and the Spanish Super Cup. Marca reports that the young midfielder has agreed to a contract extension with Real Madrid, which will run until June 2028 and include an increase in his salary to reflect his growth.

Furthermore, it is stated that Camavinga's new deal will set his release clause at a staggering £1 billion (£860 million), with an official announcement anticipated in the near future. Senior figures at Real Madrid have reportedly been greatly impressed by the youngster's attitude both on and off the field.

Earlier this year, Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti emphasized Camavinga's importance to the club, referring to him as "untouchable" amidst the ongoing speculation about his future.

"Camavinga is very important. In the last game, he made obvious mistakes, but by playing so well he makes you forget all the bad things," Ancelotti told reporters at the time.
"Against Espanyol, he made a very big mistake, but then he played a very good game. He is untouchable now and in the future."

Last season, Camavinga occasionally filled in as a left-back due to Ferland Mendy's injury concerns. However, it is believed that Ancelotti intends to deploy him primarily as a midfielder in the upcoming season.

The midfield competition at Real Madrid for the following campaign has intensified with the arrival of Jude Bellingham in a significant transfer from Borussia Dortmund.
