Reports suggest that Barcelona is in talks with former Bayern Munich and Germany manager Hansi Flick regarding the managerial position at Camp Nou. The current head coach, Xavi, is set to leave at the end of the season, having announced his resignation after a 5-3 loss to Villarreal in January.

Barcelona has shown improved form recently, with four wins and two draws in their last six games across all competitions. While there were speculations that Xavi might reconsider his decision to leave, he has reiterated his intention to depart once the season concludes.

Since Xavi's announcement, several high-profile coaches, including Flick, have been linked with the Barcelona job. It's reported that discussions with Flick have progressed significantly, making him one of the prime candidates for the 2024-25 season.

Flick, who has previously been a target for Barcelona, is reportedly open to taking on the role. He became Germany's manager in 2021 before Xavi replaced Ronald Koeman at Barcelona. Flick's availability is immediate, having been relieved of his duties as Germany head coach in September last year following a poor run of results.

Despite his struggles with the German national team, Flick boasts an impressive resume from his time with Bayern Munich, where he won seven trophies, including a historic sextuple. Barcelona sees him as a strong candidate despite recent setbacks.

Flick's reported appointment of a new agent suggests a serious interest in the Barcelona job. However, if negotiations falter, Barcelona has other candidates in mind, including Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton & Hove Albion, Simone Inzaghi of Inter Milan, Ralf Rangnick, and Thomas Tuchel, who will be leaving Bayern at the end of the season.
