According to reports, Arsenal has turned down an offer from Monaco for their teenage striker, Folarin Balogun. Balogun had an exceptional loan spell with Reims last season, scoring an impressive 21 goals, which has undoubtedly boosted his reputation across Europe.

Despite his success in Ligue 1, it's widely acknowledged that the 22-year-old will leave the Emirates Stadium before the end of August. Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's manager, is firm on keeping Eddie Nketiah as backup for players like Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz. This decision is partially driven by the club's desire to cash in on the talented United States international, as he has no interest in another temporary loan elsewhere.

While many Premier League and European clubs have shown interest in Balogun, Arsenal has yet to receive an offer that matches their valuation. Inter Milan is closely monitoring the situation, having apparently changed their stance on the player. Lens is also interested, especially considering their need to replace Lois Openda.

According to The Athletic, Monaco may be considering another attempt to sign Balogun, despite their previous offers being rejected. They've made both verbal and written proposals to Arsenal's hierarchy, with the verbal one following a recent friendly match between the two clubs.

The exact figure of Monaco's offer is not mentioned in the report, but Arsenal is reportedly looking to recoup at least £40m for a player who has only made ten first-team appearances for them. However, it's worth noting that Balogun not only competed with some of the best forwards in France's top flight last season but also represents the USA at the international level, having switched allegiances from England.

Monaco is still in talks with Arsenal, but it remains uncertain whether they can reach a compromise. The French club is actively looking to make significant acquisitions, especially after missing out on European qualification for the upcoming season.
