Tottenham Hotspur has announced the signing of 18-year-old Archie Gray from Leeds United, successfully outmaneuvering Brentford for the young talent.

The versatile player, born in 2006, can operate as a right-back or central midfielder. He has agreed to a six-year contract with Tottenham, keeping him at the club until 2030, and will wear the number 14 jersey.

Gray is the first permanent signing of the summer for Tottenham under manager Ange Postecoglou and their second overall signing, following the loan return of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig for the 2024-25 season.

The teenager had caught the eye of several top European clubs, including Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Arsenal, after a standout season at Leeds, where he contributed two assists in 52 games.

Initially, Gray seemed set to join Brentford, having reportedly passed his medical and agreed to the move. However, he had a change of heart at the last moment and opted for Tottenham instead.
