Tottenham Hotspur has identified Bournemouth's talented striker Dominic Solanke as a top target before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month. The 26-year-old is reportedly eager to take his career to the next level by joining a club that competes in Europe, which would undoubtedly boost his chances of earning a spot on the England national team.

However, Bournemouth is playing hardball, refusing to entertain any offers for Solanke, who is under contract until 2027. The only potential game-changer is the £65m release clause in his contract, which could force the Cherries to reconsider their stance.

Tottenham's interest in Solanke comes as no surprise, given manager Ange Postecoglou's recent admission that signing a forward is a top priority. "It's still the area of the park we're really probably the thinnest," he acknowledged.

While Solanke is the primary target, Spurs are also exploring alternative options, including Lille's Jonathan David. Additionally, the club is open to signing a winger, especially considering Richarlison's uncertain future amidst reported interest from Saudi Arabian clubs.

With Bryan Gil and Alejo Veliz already shipped out on loan, Tottenham's young guns – Dane Scarlett, Will Lankshear, Jamie Donley, and Mikey Moore – are pushing for squad roles. Meanwhile, the club has made some savvy signings this summer, including midfielders Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, winger Yang Min-hyuk, and the re-signing of Timo Werner on a season-long loan deal from RB Leipzig.
