According to Deadline, Reigns will play Akuma, one of the most powerful and feared characters in the Street Fighter universe, while Rhodes is set to take on the role of Guile, the iconic flat-topped military hero.
The film, slated for a 2026 release, is being developed by Legendary, Sony, and Capcom. It will be directed by Kitao Sakurai, who took over after the Philippou brothers stepped away from the project.
The cast is packed with big names: Andrew Koji will play Ryu, Noah Centineo takes on Ken, Callina Liang is Chun-Li, Jason Momoa steps in as Blanka, David Dastmalchian plays M. Bison, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is Balrog, Orville Peck portrays Vega, and Andrew Schulz rounds things out as Dan Hibiki.
This will be the first check-action Street Fighter film in over 30 years, following the cult-classic 1994 version, and expectations are sky-high.
