Reports suggest that Manchester United has extended Aaron Wan-Bissaka's contract by an additional 12 months, tying him to the club until the summer of 2025. The 26-year-old, who joined Old Trafford from Crystal Palace in June 2019, has played in 175 matches for the 20-time English champions, scoring twice.

Wan-Bissaka hasn't consistently held the role of the first-choice right-back since the appointment of Erik ten Hag as manager at the beginning of the last campaign. However, in recent times, he has started the last three matches.

Despite his solid performances, Wan-Bissaka has faced tough competition for a spot on the right side of the defense, making it challenging for him to secure an England call-up. Nevertheless, he has represented the Three Lions' Under-21s side on three occasions.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United has exercised the option in Wan-Bissaka's contract, ensuring his commitment to Ten Hag's side until the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. Initial discussions about an extension took place in September but were temporarily halted as Sir Jim Ratcliffe completed his minority takeover of the club.

Wan-Bissaka was among several Red Devils players whose contracts were set to expire in the summer. However, United has reportedly chosen to prolong his deal by 12 months. Additionally, the club is expected to engage in negotiations with Wan-Bissaka to discuss a potential salary increase, as the defender currently earns £90,000 per week.

In a related development, Manchester United has purportedly extended the contract of Wan-Bissaka's teammate Victor Lindelof, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation from an injury sustained in November.

While United seems keen on retaining key members of their defensive lineup for the upcoming season, it is believed that the extension clause in Raphael Varane's contract will not be activated.
