According to reports, Manchester City is gearing up to offer Rodri, their star midfielder, a massive new contract that could see him staying with the club until he retires. Rodri, who's often hailed as one of the top midfielders globally, has not only shown his defensive skills but has also been stepping up his game in attack.

This season, the 27-year-old has been directly involved in 20 goals across 40 matches, scoring eight and providing 12 assists. In the Premier League alone, he's netted seven goals and set up as many in 28 appearances. His recent performance against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace further highlighted his impact, with a goal and an assist in each game.

Since joining Manchester City, Rodri has amassed an impressive tally of 25 goals and 27 assists in 246 appearances, clinching 10 major trophies, including the Champions League in 2022-23. Despite his current contract running for three more years, reports suggest that City is eager to tie him down with an even better deal.

Under his current terms, Rodri reportedly earns around £180,000 a week, but talks of a new contract indicate a significant raise to £300,000 per week. Manchester City sees him as the best defensive midfielder globally and is keen on starting negotiations soon, hoping to secure his services for the long haul.
