Liverpool has reportedly set their sights on Fluminense midfielder Andre as a potential signing before the end of the summer transfer window.

Throughout 2023, there have been consistent reports that Jurgen Klopp is actively seeking midfielders to bolster the team ahead of the 2023-24 season, as James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are expected to depart.

On top of those departures, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have also left for the Saudi Pro League, leaving Klopp with fewer midfield options than anticipated. While Alexis Mac Allister has been signed from Brighton & Hove Albion, Liverpool still believes they need at least two more fresh faces for the center of the pitch.

Recent reports indicate that Liverpool is actively trying to negotiate a deal with Southampton for Romeo Lavia. However, Southampton is sticking to their £50m asking price, resulting in Liverpool's unsuccessful attempts to secure the Belgium international.

Nevertheless, Liverpool is not willing to give up and is exploring alternative options in the transfer market. One player who has caught their attention is Andre, who has been making a positive impact in Fluminense's midfield.

The 22-year-old has made 145 appearances, contributing three goals and three assists as a defensive-minded player. His progress at Maracana has been so impressive that he earned his debut for Brazil, playing 16 minutes in the recent match against Senegal. With over three years left on Andre's contract, Fluminense is not under pressure to sell one of their prized assets.

However, it's believed that Liverpool may be able to secure a deal with a proposal worth £20m, as Andre reportedly has a desire to make the move to Anfield. The situation remains fluid, and Liverpool is actively pursuing the player to strengthen their midfield options.

Klopp is smarter than this, I don't think Andre is fit for Liverpool, this seems like a desperate decision by klopp

what makes you think Andre might not be a good fit for Liverpool? He's very defensive-minded and does everything required from a DM
