Sources suggest Wright preferred to stay in the North West rather than relocate to London a factor that played in Liverpool’s favor. The club has confirmed he’ll continue his development within their academy system.
“Liverpool FC have completed the signing of Will Wright from Salford City,” read an official club statement. “He joined up with Rob Page’s U21 squad last week and made his debut on Saturday, coming on for the final 30 minutes of a 0-0 draw with Hull City at the Academy.”
Wright made four senior appearances for Salford during the 2024–25 season, including a brief substitute appearance in their 8-0 defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup third round.
