West Ham United's talented winger, Jarrod Bowen, has reportedly caught the attention of both Liverpool and Newcastle United as potential transfer targets.

When Bowen made the move from Hull City to the London Stadium for £18 million in January 2020, some questioned whether West Ham had overspent on a player who had not yet proven himself in the Premier League. However, since then, Bowen has become a key figure for the Hammers, contributing an impressive 45 goals and 33 assists in 166 appearances across all competitions.

He notably scored the winning goal in the Europa Conference League final last season and has earned recognition with the England national team, earning four caps so far.

His strong start to the 2023-24 season, with five goals and two assists, has earned him a call-up for the upcoming England fixtures against Australia and Italy. Despite his on-field success, off the pitch, Bowen's future remains uncertain due to having less than two years left on his contract with West Ham.

According to talkSPORT, negotiations to extend Bowen's contract have been ongoing behind the scenes, with West Ham eager to secure his services for the long term. However, the report also suggests that Bowen and his representatives are in no hurry to sign a new deal at this stage, which has attracted the interest of other clubs.

Liverpool and Newcastle are reportedly closely monitoring the situation and considering making a potential bid for Bowen either in the January transfer window or the summer. Bowen's agents are said to be open to exploring any offers that come his way, especially with both Liverpool and Newcastle competing for a spot in the Champions League next season.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool squad is believed to be in need of a versatile attacker, a role that Bowen could potentially fill, given his ability to play on the right flank or through the center this season. Meanwhile, Eddie Howe at Newcastle sees Bowen as a valuable addition, given his track record of signing players capable of playing in multiple positions, which would help the club meet Financial Fair Play (FFP) criteria.

It's worth noting that West Ham themselves are in contention for a Champions League spot next season, currently sitting just three points behind the top four in the Premier League and having already secured two victories in the Europa League group stages.
