Julian Alvarez has shot down rumors that he's looking to leave Manchester City, saying he's "comfortable and happy" at the Etihad Stadium. The 24-year-old forward has had two standout seasons with City, scoring 17 goals during their treble-winning 2022-23 season and 19 goals in their record fourth consecutive Premier League title run in 2023-24.

Even though he's mostly been a backup to Golden Boot winner Erling Haaland, only seven City players got more playing time than Alvarez last season. With Haaland's incredible 90 goals in 98 games for City, it's unlikely Alvarez will replace him anytime soon.

This has sparked rumors that he might be looking for more regular playing time elsewhere, with Chelsea reportedly interested in signing him after Nicolas Jackson had a mixed first season with the Blues.

But Alvarez has put those rumors to rest, confirming he's happy to stay with Manchester City. In an interview with ESPN, he said, "These are things that are said, but I am calm, I am comfortable and happy at City. We will see what happens."

There were also reports that Paris Saint-Germain was eyeing Alvarez as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who just moved to Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Chelsea might turn to RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko or Napoli's Victor Osimhen as alternatives, although Osimhen's high price tag of over £100m could be a deal-breaker for the Blues.
