Girona secured a remarkable 4-2 win against fellow Catalan side Barcelona, propelling them to the top of La Liga. The opening goal came from Artem Dovbyk, but Girona's lead was short-lived as Robert Lewandowski equalized with a header within seven minutes.

However, undeterred, the visitors regained the lead before halftime, courtesy of a goal from former Real Madrid player Miguel Gutierrez.

Valery added a third in the second half, and despite Ilkay Gundogan pulling one back late in the game, Barcelona's hopes of salvaging a point were dashed by Cristhian Stuani's 95th-minute strike.

This victory marked Girona's first competitive win over Barcelona, allowing them to leapfrog Real Madrid into the top position. Barcelona, on the other hand, finds themselves seven points behind in fourth place.
