FC Barcelona is very close to settling a new deal to support the Catalan team's defense next season.

Fabrizio Romano, a player transfer expert, said on his Twitter account that Barcelona had completed all the documents for the inclusion of Inigo Martinez, defender of Athletic Bilbao, for a period of two years.

Romano added, "Barcelona is waiting for financial fair play, in order to register Inigo Martinez's contract as a free transfer deal."

He pointed out that Inigo Martinez agreed to Barcelona's offer last March, and that the completion of the deal was only a matter of time.

31-year-old Inigo Martinez's contract with Athletic Bilbao expires in the summer of 2023, and the two parties have not reached an agreement on renewal.

And Spanish press reports indicated that Inigo Martinez got special offers from Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Napoli, but he preferred to move to Barcelona because he dreamed of that.

"Gooooooooooal! The stadium erupts as the ball hits the back of the net, the crowd chanting the player's name in unison."

It's a good move, although this means that Lenglet and Umtiti will be sold
