Reports suggest that Raheem Sterling turned down a staggering £900,000-a-week contract from a club in the Saudi Pro League to continue playing for Chelsea in the 2023-24 season.
After a successful stint under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, the 82-time England international made the switch from the Etihad Stadium to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2022.

During his first season with Chelsea, Sterling managed to score nine goals, contributing to the team's efforts, although Chelsea ended up finishing 12th in the Premier League, their lowest position since 1994. This season, Sterling has scored five goals and provided three assists in 22 matches, a record surpassed only by Cole Palmer among Chelsea players.

According to The Telegraph, Sterling had the opportunity to leave Chelsea during the summer transfer window, just a year after his move from Manchester City. Allegedly, he was offered the lucrative £900,000-per-week deal from a club in the Saudi Pro League. Considering Sterling's current salary of £300,000 per week, accepting this offer would have tripled his earnings.

Despite the tempting financial offer, Sterling reportedly had no intention of departing Chelsea ahead of the 2023-24 season. He had already committed to Chelsea with a substantial five-year contract when he joined from Manchester City in 2022, tying him to the club until 2027.
