Chelsea and Liverpool, two teams reeling from recent demoralizing defeats, are set to clash in a crucial Premier League fixture at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday. Chelsea's hopes of a top-four finish took a hit after a 2-0 loss to Aston Villa, which led to manager Graham Potter's sacking. Meanwhile, Liverpool suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City, which was their third consecutive loss. Klopp's side, currently in eighth place, now faces a 13-point deficit from the top four spots.

Chelsea had an all-too-familiar performance under Potter against Aston Villa, with missed chances and a lack of confidence leading to a disappointing defeat. Bruno Saltor will take charge of the team until a new manager is appointed. Liverpool, on the other hand, continue to struggle away from home and have lost five of their last seven Premier League away games.

Despite the frustrations of Liverpool fans over a referee decision, Klopp maintains that playing against ten men wouldn't have changed the outcome of the Manchester City game. Klopp's team was let down by a poor performance from most of the players, leading to their slide down the Premier League table.

Chelsea and Liverpool's recent goalless stalemate, where neither side scored, could repeat itself, with both teams struggling for form and confidence.

INJURIES & SUSPENSIONS

Armando Broja (knee), Cesar Azpilicueta (head), and Thiago Silva (knee) will all be unavailable for Chelsea this week, and Edouard Mendy (finger) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (back) may not be fit enough to feature. However, there is hope that Raheem Sterling can recover from a hamstring concern to play against his former club. Wesley Fofana could also make a return to the squad for Leicester City.

Liverpool's long-term absentees Calvin Ramsay (knee) and Stefan Bajcetic (adductor) will remain sidelined, and Naby Keita may miss the rest of the season with a new muscular problem. Luis Diaz is back in team training but not ready for selection, and Thiago Alcantara (hip) is a couple of weeks away from a return.

Roberto Firmino and Darwin Nunez are available to boost Liverpool's forward line, and Kostas Tsimikas could come in for Andrew Robertson, who struggled against Manchester City. Klopp's options in midfield are limited.

POSSIBLE LINE-UPS

Chelsea possible starting lineup:
Kepa; Badiashile, Koulibaly, Fofana; James, Fernandez, Kante, Chilwell; Mount, Havertz; Felix

Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Henderson, Fabinho; Salah, Firmino, Jota; Nunez

EXPERT PREDICTION

Chelsea 2-2 Liverpool

The last five encounters between Chelsea and Liverpool have all ended in draws, and there is a strong possibility that this streak could extend to six on Tuesday night, despite Chelsea's recent managerial change. Both Saltor and Klopp may make some alterations to their teams, but it is difficult to predict which team will come out on top, given their recent struggles. Therefore, it seems likely that the match will end in another draw, rather than a victory for either side.
