Casper Ruud and Novak Djokovic secured victories in their respective semi-final matches on Friday, setting the stage for a repeat of last year's French Open final. Djokovic, a two-time champion, ended Carlos Alcaraz's dream of claiming his first Roland-Garros title with a hard-fought 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 win. Alcaraz, hampered by an injury in the latter stages of the match, couldn't capitalize on his opportunities as Djokovic dominated.

In the other semi-final, Ruud defeated Alexander Zverev in impressive fashion, winning 6-3, 6-4, 6-0. Despite a shaky start with multiple breaks of serve, Ruud found his rhythm and took control of the match. Zverev, still recovering from his ankle injury sustained in last year's semi-final against Rafael Nadal, couldn't mount a comeback as Ruud sealed the victory in straight sets.

With Djokovic and Ruud advancing to the final, tennis fans can look forward to an exciting showdown. Before that, the defending women's champion Iga Swiatek will face Karolina Muchova in the women's final on Saturday.
