French Ligue 1 club, AS Monaco has reportedly reached out to Arsenal regarding a potential loan deal for Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieira. Vieira, aged 23, made his way to North London in 2022 after an impressive season with Porto, where he notched up 14 assists in 27 Primeira Liga matches, tying with Benfica's Rafa Silva as the division's highest assist provider.

Arsenal secured Vieira's services for £30 million, beating out competition from Manchester United. However, despite his talent, Vieira has found himself in a rotational role at the Emirates Stadium due to stiff competition for positions.

While Vieira prefers the number 10 role, Arsenal's creative midfield is anchored by Martin Odegaard, with Bukayo Saka commanding the right flank. Vieira has occasionally played in a deeper midfield position but faces competition from players like Kai Havertz and Emile Smith Rowe.

Unfortunately, Vieira's playing time has been limited, with just five Premier League starts in the past year and a half. He also made three substitute appearances in this season's Champions League group stage before sustaining a serious groin injury that required surgery at the end of November. While there's no fixed timeline for his recovery, a potential return in February remains a possibility.

Despite his injury setback and limited playing opportunities, FootballTransfers reports that Monaco is interested in Vieira and is considering a loan deal for the remainder of the season.
