According to reports, Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte has emerged as a potential transfer target for both Arsenal and Juventus. Laporte, who has spent five-and-a-half seasons at the Etihad Stadium, has been a key figure in winning an impressive 12 trophies during his time with the club.

However, despite his contributions, Laporte had limited playing time in the Premier League last season, making just 12 appearances. This has led the Spanish international to consider his options, and Manchester City may be open to selling the 29-year-old if they receive a suitable offer.

Initially, Aston Villa had shown interest in Laporte before they opted to pursue Villarreal's Pau Torres, a deal expected to be finalized soon. Additionally, it was reported that Laporte turned down advances from Tottenham Hotspur due to their failure to qualify for European competitions next season.

Recent reports from Spain suggest that both Arsenal and Juventus are contemplating whether to make a move for the experienced defender. Arsenal, who finished as Premier League runners-up to Manchester City last season, are expected to invest heavily in players such as Jurrien Timber, Declan Rice, and Kai Havertz, with a potential expenditure of over £200m.

Nevertheless, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could still benefit from adding another center-back to his squad, particularly one who can play on the left side. This would provide him with the option to switch to a back three if necessary. Manchester City has previously conducted business with Arsenal, allowing players like Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus to move to the Emirates Stadium before the start of the last campaign.

On the other hand, Juventus may face challenges in securing Laporte's signature due to financial constraints and the absence of Champions League football. However, there is an opportunity for Laporte to become a key figure in their defensive setup.
