Matteo Cancellieri scored a late goal to give newly-promoted Parma a shocking 2-1 win over AC Milan in Serie A. Pontus Almqvist, who came on as a second-half substitute, delivered a perfect cross into the box, where Cancellieri slotted it into the bottom corner.
Parma took an early lead just two minutes into the game when Dennis Man fired a shot into the roof of the net after a low cross from Emanuele Valeri. With this goal, Man became the first Parma player since Sebastian Giovinco in 2011 to score in the club's opening two Serie A matches of a season.
Christian Pulisic brought Milan level after the break, converting Rafael Leao's cross from close range. Despite dominating much of the second half, Milan was caught off guard in the final moments, leaving empty-handed.
This marks the first time since the 2011-12 season that Milan has failed to win either of their first two Serie A matches.
Meanwhile, defending champions Inter Milan secured a 2-0 victory over Lecce later that day, thanks to Matteo Darmian's early header and a Hakan Calhanoglu penalty. Simone Inzaghi's team has now won their opening Serie A home game for six consecutive seasons.
