Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is nearing a summer move to the Saudi Pro League, despite interest from Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce, according to reports. Partey, who struggled with hamstring and groin injuries throughout the 2023-24 season, was limited to just 16 appearances in all competitions.

Arsenal had a strong campaign, competing closely with Manchester City for the Premier League title and reaching the Champions League quarter-finals. However, Partey played only a minor role, forcing manager Mikel Arteta to rely on Jorginho in defensive midfield.

Partey, 31, joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2020 and has one year left on his contract at the Emirates Stadium. According to Football Insider, Arsenal do not plan to offer him an extension and are open to offers before he enters the final year of his deal.

Arteta is expected to be active in the transfer market this summer and may use the proceeds from Partey's sale to acquire a younger central midfielder to partner with Declan Rice. The club has reportedly set an asking price of £20m to £25m for Partey.

Aston Villa's Douglas Luiz and Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi have emerged as top candidates to replace Partey in Arsenal's midfield. The Ghanaian international had been linked with a move to the Middle East, and officials from the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund have resumed talks over a potentially lucrative contract.

Partey's representatives are working on securing a summer transfer, with Mourinho reportedly interested in bringing the player to Istanbul. Interest from Fenerbahce has prompted the PIF to intensify their pursuit by directly contacting Partey to agree on terms, bypassing Arsenal.

Juventus were also rumored to be monitoring Partey but have not made a formal approach. Since his £45m move from La Liga to the Premier League, Partey has scored five goals and provided four assists in 115 appearances for Arsenal.
