RB Leipzig secured their DFB-Pokal title by defeating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. The match was a tightly contested affair, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut opportunities. However, it was in the second half that Leipzig managed to break the deadlock with goals from Christopher Nkunku and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Early in the game, Leipzig's Timo Werner had a promising chance inside the box, but his well-struck shot was expertly saved by Kevin Trapp. Frankfurt had a half-chance of their own when Tuta's effort from Philipp Max's free-kick deflected wide.

Both Nkunku and Randal Kolo Muani, the standout French forwards, had unsuccessful attempts on goal during the early exchanges. Muani's pace and skill caused constant trouble for Leipzig's defense, as expected. Muani was involved in a potential penalty incident after being pulled back by Lukas Klostermann inside the 18-yard box. However, his appeals were dismissed, and moments later, Nkunku saw another shot saved by Trapp as the first half ended goalless.

Frankfurt started the second half as the more threatening side, with Mario Gotze forcing an incredible save from Leipzig's Jan Blaswich. Blaswich, deputizing for the injured Peter Gulasci, continued to impress with his performances. Ultimately, Leipzig's sharper finishing in the final third made the difference. Nkunku, possibly playing his last game for the club before a reported transfer to Chelsea, scored a deflected goal after a fine combination between him and Dani Olmo.

Nkunku played a key role once again as Leipzig sealed their victory five minutes before the end of regular time. He set up Szoboszlai, who showed determination to reach the ball first and calmly slotted it into the bottom-left corner from inside the penalty area.

In the closing moments, Muani nearly pulled a goal back for Frankfurt, but his effort was thwarted by the inspired Blaswich. With this victory, Leipzig clinched their second cup triumph in two seasons under manager Marco Rose.

Unfortunately for Frankfurt, their defeat means they will not have the opportunity to contest the Europa League title for the second time in three seasons. Instead, they will participate in the Europa Conference League in the next campaign.
