There are reports suggesting that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is considering making a move for Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips. Phillips, who transferred from Leeds United to the Etihad Stadium for an initial £42m in 2022, was expected to get regular playing time.

However, he has only started six games and made 25 substitute appearances. Pep Guardiola has acknowledged the possibility of a transfer elsewhere for Phillips in January.

While there is interest in the England international, potential challenges may arise from City's demands, especially in the case of a loan deal. Recent reports indicate that City is looking for a £5m loan fee and wants to include an obligation to buy in any proposal.

If City remains firm on these demands, it could make it challenging for clubs like Newcastle United and Juventus, who are known to be facing financial difficulties, to commit to a bid.

From City's perspective, having Phillips for the rest of the season is not an issue, but the player is reportedly eager for a move to enhance his chances of representing England at Euro 2024. According to Caught Offside, PSG might be considering entering the race for Phillips later in the transfer window.
