It's reported that Liverpool is getting ready to bid farewell to Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara, and Adrian this summer. This comes as the club prepares for a new chapter at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp stepping down as manager after nine years.

Alongside this managerial change, Liverpool will also see a new sporting director stepping in, following Jorg Schmadtke's departure earlier in the year. Richard Hughes, who previously worked as Bournemouth's technical director, will officially take on the role at the end of the current season, as confirmed by the club.

Under Hughes' leadership, it's been decided that three players—Matip, Thiago, and Adrian—will be allowed to leave the club as free agents when their contracts expire on June 30.

Matip, who joined Liverpool in 2016, has had a considerable presence with 201 appearances for the club. However, a season-ending knee injury in December seems to have marked the end of his time with the Reds.

Thiago's future is uncertain due to ongoing injury concerns. Despite returning from a long-term hip injury for a game against Arsenal last month, he suffered another setback, prompting Liverpool's decision not to extend his contract.

As for Adrian, he's found himself surplus to requirements, with limited appearances since the 2020-21 season. Klopp has favored Caoimhin Kelleher as the backup goalkeeper to Alisson Becker this season, leaving Adrian sidelined.
