Reports suggest that Liverpool have been notified of the price tag associated with Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Kouadio Kone. Jurgen Klopp is seeking to reinforce his midfield options during the upcoming summer transfer window, as James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all set to depart when their contracts expire at the end of this month.

Furthermore, Liverpool will see Arthur return to his parent club Juventus after enduring a difficult and injury-ridden season on loan at Anfield, where he managed to feature for a mere 13 minutes in a single Champions League match. Kone, primarily functioning as a deep-lying midfielder, has become a key member of Monchengladbach's first team since his arrival from Toulouse in January 2021 for a fee of €9m (£7.9m).

The 22-year-old has made a total of 60 appearances for the German club across all competitions, including 30 starts in the Bundesliga this season. While Kone's contract at Borussia-Park runs until the summer of 2025, his future at the club remains uncertain due to interest from several top European clubs.

Liverpool has emerged as the latest club to express interest in Kone, joining the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain in the race to secure his services. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool engaged in discussions with Monchengladbach last week regarding a potential deal for Kone. It has been disclosed that the club was informed of the midfielder's potential availability for a transfer fee ranging between €35m (£30m) and €40m (£34.4m).

Romano further reveals that Monchengladbach is open to parting ways with the French Under-21 international this summer, provided they receive an offer that aligns with their valuation. While Kone previously stated that he paid no attention to transfer rumors surrounding his future, he did acknowledge that his representatives are pleased to hear about the interest from top European clubs.
