Defender Leon Balogun has officially re-joined Rangers from Queens Park Rangers on a one-year contract. The 35-year-old previously played for the Gers for two years, making 65 appearances and securing both the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish Cup. Last summer, he made the switch to Championship side QPR.

During the 2022-23 season, Balogun featured in 16 matches for QPR as they narrowly escaped relegation from the second tier. Now, he has made the decision to return to Glasgow as a free transfer, signing a short-term deal until the summer of 2024. His arrival comes at a crucial time when young defender Leon King is facing an extended period on the sidelines due to an ankle injury sustained on Tuesday.

Balogun marks the seventh signing for Michael Beale during the summer transfer window, joining the ranks of Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, Jack Butland, Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima, and Cyriel Dessers. He has already integrated with his new teammates at the club's pre-season training camp in Germany.
