Juventus 'keen on January move for Manchester United's Jadon Sancho' (1 Viewer)

Reports suggest that Juventus is open to signing Jadon Sancho from Manchester United in the upcoming January transfer window. The former Borussia Dortmund player has been separated from the group for over a month now after publicly criticizing Erik ten Hag for not including him in the squad to face Arsenal last month.

Ten Hag claimed that Sancho's performances in training were below par, which the winger disputed. Sancho instead asserted that he had been unfairly treated and made a "scapegoat," as he revealed in a social media statement (which has since been deleted). Despite the post's removal, Sancho remains in exile and apparently hasn't apologized to Ten Hag. He is even said to be barred from all first-team facilities.

Sancho was once again missing from the squad during Saturday's 2-1 victory over Brentford. When questioned about Sancho's situation, Ten Hag provided a brief response. While Sancho is under contract at Old Trafford for another three seasons, with no resolution to the standoff in sight, his departure in 2024 appears increasingly likely.

A return to Dortmund, where he had an impressive record of contributing to 114 goals in 137 matches, has been suggested. Sancho is reportedly interested in returning to Signal Iduna Park in January.

However, there are reportedly doubts within BVB about re-signing Sancho, mainly concerning his punctuality and sleep schedule. But an alternative exit route may be available.

According to The Sun, Italian giants Juventus are interested in bringing the 23-year-old to Serie A in the middle of the season and may offer Manchester United £60 million to secure his permanent transfer next summer.

There's a catch, though: Juventus would allegedly require Manchester United to cover half of Sancho's £350,000-per-week wages while he plays under Massimiliano Allegri in Turin. Nevertheless, Juventus is hopeful of reaching an agreement under these terms, given Manchester United's desire to offload the player. Sancho would likely welcome the opportunity to revive his career in Serie A.

Manchester United acquired Sancho in a high-stakes battle in 2021, paying £73 million to secure his services. However, he has only managed 12 goals and six assists in 82 matches since his arrival. Last season, the former Manchester City youth spent a significant amount of time away from the first team to address physical and mental challenges. He struggled to make an impact in the Premier League this season, failing to score or provide assists in three games before being dropped.

In addition to Sancho's absence, Manchester United also had to cope without Antony for several weeks due to allegations of domestic violence from three women, which he denied.

However, the Brazilian has returned to the squad after cooperating with police questioning and made a second-half appearance as a substitute in Saturday's dramatic win over Brentford, where Scott McTominay scored two injury-time goals to overturn a Mathias Jensen opener.
