Reportedly, Joao Palhinha has expressed his desire to leave Fulham and join Bayern Munich in the upcoming January transfer window. Earlier in the summer transfer window, there were negotiations for the midfielder to move to the Bundesliga champions. However, the deal fell through as Fulham struggled to find a suitable replacement for him.

On the final day of the transfer window, Fulham indicated their willingness to let Palhinha go and even allowed him to travel to Munich for a medical examination. Despite the deal collapsing at the last moment, Bayern Munich remains interested in the Portuguese international and plans to make another attempt to sign him in the next transfer window, as they believe they still need more options in defensive midfield. According to a report from TeamTalk, Palhinha has now reaffirmed his desire to join Bayern Munich and anticipates that his current club will permit the move in January.

The report also suggests that despite pushing for the transfer, Palhinha will continue representing Fulham, understanding that he needs to maintain a high level of performance to remain at the top of Bayern's wish list.

Palhinha made the move to London from Sporting Lisbon last season, and his current contract with Fulham is set to run until 2027. In his debut season with Fulham, the defensive midfielder appeared in 35 matches, scoring three goals, and has already scored in his first two matches of the current season.
