Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been provided with the valuation required to secure the services of Gift Orban from Gent. Following Harry Kane's departure to Bayern Munich earlier this month, Spurs manager, Ange Postecoglou is actively seeking a striker.

Orban's emergence occurred in the early months of 2023 after his transfer from Norwegian club Stabaek to Gent. Fulham is also rumored to be in contention for the player, having lost their influential figure Aleksandr Mitrovic to a move to Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

As indicated by Football Insider, Gent is seeking a fee between £30 million and £40 million to greenlight the transfer of the 21-year-old.

This proposed sum would establish a new Belgian record, surpassing the amount AC Milan spent to secure Charles De Ketelaere's transfer from Club Brugge a year ago. De Ketelaere's move to Rossoneri amounted to around £31 million. Given Orban's performance throughout 2023, it's unsurprising to see similar figures being discussed.

Orban had already scored an impressive 19 goals in 24 games during his sole senior season with Stabaek, and he continued his prolific form upon moving to Belgium. His goal-scoring spree began with the only goal as a substitute in a Europa Conference League knockout match against Qarabag, followed by a remarkable run in March.

During this month, Orban astonishingly netted 11 goals across a combination of domestic and European fixtures. His achievements included the match-winning goal against Anderlecht, the equalizer against Istanbul Basaksehir in a UEFA Europa Conference League last 16 first-leg encounter, and an extraordinary four-goal performance against Zulte-Waregem in a 6-2 victory.

Orban's goal-scoring prowess extended even further when he achieved the fastest hat-trick ever witnessed in a UEFA competition, completing three goals in just three minutes and 25 seconds during the return leg against Basaksehir.

Continuing his impressive streak, he secured a double against Seraing and another hat-trick, this time away at Cercle Brugge. Overall, Orban's exceptional season resulted in 20 goals in 22 matches following his arrival in January.

Demonstrating consistency, Orban has already tallied six goals in six matches this season, including another hat-trick against Pogon Szczecin in UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying. With Harry Kane's departure from Spurs, the responsibility of goal-scoring now falls to players such as Heung-min Son, Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski, and James Maddison to replace the 30-goal contribution from the previous season.

However, none of these four players have found the back of the net in Tottenham's opening two games. This scenario may lead the club to reinvest a portion of the substantial fee received for Kane in acquiring a new forward.

Fulham also faces a void in their attacking lineup due to Mitrovic's departure. Their recent 3-0 defeat at home against Brentford raised concerns. While Raul Jimenez currently leads their attack following his move from Wolverhampton Wanderers, he hasn't scored a Premier League goal in over a year.
