Ferran Torres 'considering his future at Barcelona over lack of starts' (1 Viewer)

Ferran Torres is reportedly feeling frustrated with his limited playing time at Barcelona in the 2023-24 season. After ending his 18-month stint with Manchester City in January 2022, Torres returned to La Liga with Barcelona.

While his time at Camp Nou can be considered successful with 19 goals and 11 assists in 90 appearances, Torres finds himself in and out of Xavi's starting lineup. Despite contributing to Barcelona's La Liga title win in 2022-23 and providing five goals and one assist in the current season, the 23-year-old has struggled to secure a regular spot, being on the pitch for less than half of Barcelona's top-flight minutes.

Reports suggest that Torres is now considering his options and a potential exit from Barcelona in 2024. A lack of communication between his representatives and Xavi, coupled with the anticipated arrival of Vitor Roque, may be contributing factors. Gavi's long-term injury has opened the door for Roque's early addition in January, potentially affecting Torres's playing time.

Barcelona, aiming to address financial issues, could be open to parting ways with Torres, despite the challenge of recouping the €55 million spent on his transfer almost two years ago. Premier League teams, including Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, have shown interest, with a loan switch and an option to buy being a plausible transfer method.

Torres still has over three-and-a-half years left on his contract at Barcelona, adding to the potential complexity of any transfer negotiations.
