Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, has shared that the club is considering its options for a potential replacement for Gavi in the upcoming January transfer window. Unfortunately, Gavi sustained a serious knee injury during Spain's Euro 2024 qualification match against Georgia, ruling him out for the rest of the 2023-24 season.

While it's unlikely that Barcelona will make a permanent signing for the midfielder in January, there is a possibility of securing a player on loan. One name in consideration is Giovani Lo Celso from Tottenham Hotspur, who has previous La Liga experience with Real Betis and Villarreal. The option of bringing in Lo Celso on loan for the second half of the 2023-24 season is being explored.

Deco mentioned that the club will carefully assess the available players and then make a financial evaluation to determine the feasibility of adding to their squad in January. Barcelona is navigating the situation with a thoughtful approach as they seek the right solution following Gavi's unfortunate injury.
"A new scenario arises and we are going to evaluate it according to what we can do. We are looking at what we can do financially," Deco told EFE.

"In January, the important players play in their teams and I don't see it as easy to sign an important player who can bring us things in the winter market."
Once more, Gavi has proven to be a key player for Barcelona this season, featuring in 15 matches across various competitions. In his contributions, he scored two goals and provided one assist.

Unfortunately, this influential midfielder is expected to be absent from Spain's Euro 2024 campaign, dealing a significant setback to their hopes of achieving success in Germany next summer.
